Public Works Department PermitsThe following permits may be found on this page: DRIVEWAY PERMITS (pdf): Driveway permits are required for all new driveways, to move the location of an existing driveway and/or to make changes to a driveway. EXCAVATION PERMITS (pdf): Excavation permits are required for any work that involves disturbing the ground in the Town right-of-way. Please note that if you plan to dig on your own property that although no Excavation Permit is required, it is still wise to call Digsafe at 1-888-344-7233, so that you do not dig into any underground wires and/or utilties. OBSTRUCTION PERMITS (pdf): Obstruction permits are required for any work that involves the Town right-of-way, especially work that involves the blocking or partial blocking of streets, work that involves blocking off parking spaces, and work that involves blocking off or impeding sidewalk movement. WEIGHT RESTRICTED ROADS PERMT (pdf): Weight Restricted Roads permits are required for any hauling of loads, in excess of six tons, on the following roads during the posted road season: LIST OF POSTED ROADS If you would like a blank permit sent to you by fax or e-mail, please contact the Hanover Public Works Department at either (603) 643-3327 or e-mail us at: dpw@hanovernh.org
