Visiting Nurse Alliance of Vermont and New Hampshire (VNAVNH) provides home care services including visiting nurse, home health aide and physical therapy. Services may be covered by insurance or, for patients meeting the town's eligibility criteria, by the town. Clinics are held at the Hanover Senior Center and are offered for footcare and blood pressure.

The "Good Morning" Program is a telephone reassurance service for Hanover residents over 60 or any disabled adult of any age who may be homebound, living alone, and at risk for falls, accidents, or sudden illness. If interested, call the number above.

Tax abatement information is available through the Tax Assessor at the Hanover Town Office or the Community Counselor for those residents having difficulty paying their property taxes. In addition, other options are available to assist elderly or disabled residents: Optional Adjusted Exemption Tax Lien for Elderly and Disabled.

In addition to full library services, Howe Library offers telephone reference, home delivery for home-bound readers, large print materials, books on tape, copying machine, handicapped accessibility, consumer information, and meeting rooms. Howe Library also offers group and individual instruction for the Internet and for Howe's online databases.
