Sewer Bills Due June 2, 2008

The Town of Hanover currently bills users of the municipal sewer system on an annual basis. Bills are generated in May and are due 30 days from the invoice mailing date. For the current bill, the due date is Monday, June 2, 2008. Please make checks payable to the Town of Hanover, enclose the remittance copy of your bill, and return payment to Town Hall or mail to P.O. Box 483, Hanover, NH   03755-0483. For your convenience, payments may also be made by credit cards at http:www.officialpayments.com - please note that Official Payments Corp. charges a convenience fee for processing your credit card payment.

The annual bill is for wastewater treatment services provided over the period running from July 1, 2007 through June 30, 2008.

The sewer usage charge is comprised of two parts:

1. A fixed capacity charge based on the size of the water meter. This is a minimum charge to be connected to the sewer system and will be assessed even if there is no flow through the sewer system from the property. Such a minimum charge is necessary, because the sewer plant needs to be scaled to handle the flow from all sewer connections at any time. This charge appears on your bill as the FLAT RATE charge.
2. A variable flow charge based on the amount of water used at the service location. The usage is taken from the quarterly water meter readings for Hanover Water Works Company customers. For the current sewer bill, the water usage is based on the 7/1/2007, 10/1/2007, 1/1/2008, and 4/1/2008 water meter readings. Where accounts are not on Town water but have meters on their private well source, usage is read annually in mid-late April.
