Selectmen's Meetings

When does the Board of Selectmen meet?  The Board of Selectmen usually meet twice a month, but please view the Selectmen's Meeting Schedule for more definite meeting dates, by clicking  Board of Selectmen.

 

 

Board of Selectmen and/or Town Manager

How do I contact the Board of Selectmen and/or Town Manager?   You can mail your correspondence to the Board of Selectmen and/or Town Manager, at Town of Hanover, PO Box 483, Hanover, NH or e-mail your correspondence to townmgr@hanovernh.org.  The office phone number for the Town Manager and the Board of Selectmen is 603-643-0701 Board of Selectmen   Town Manager

 

Raffle Permits

How do I obtain a Raffle Permit?  You may obtain a raffle permit from the Town Manager's Office, located in Town Hall, 41 South Main Street, Hanover, NH.  You will need to fill out a raffle application form which then needs to be approved by the Board of Selectmen and the Town Manager. 

 

 

Outdoor Activities Permits

When do I need an Outdoor Activities Permit?   For activities such as a large outdoor event open to invitees or the general public; private parties, parades or foot races; blocking of road, sidewalk or access to structures; fireworks; or any other activity which may result in substantial production of noise or disruption of the normal flow of activities.

 

Please allow at least 7 days prior to the date of your event, otherwise it will be your responsibility to obtain the appropriate approval for your event by going to the various offices and obtaining the signature approval yourself.  Outdoor Activities Permit applications can be obtained at the Town Manager's Office and at the Dartmouth College Conference & Special Events Office.  Please Note the Noise Ordinances #33 and #34 now in effect.   You can view the Town's Ordinances by clicking on  Town Charter and Ordinances 

 

How do I obtain an Outdoor Activities Permit?  If your event is going to be held on Dartmouth College property, then you need to go to the Dartmouth College Conference & Special Events Office located on the 2nd floor of the Blunt building on North Main Street.  Phone number is 646-2923.  Contact Person: Mary Kate Shea [Mary.Kate.Shea@Dartmouth.EDU].

 

If your event is on public or private property, then you need to go to the Town Manager's Office in Town Hall, 41 South Main Street.

Please Note
: The Town is NOT producing a Town Calendar anymore because the Town Calendar was cut from the budget, but Youth-in-Action creates a wonderful Pig & Wolf Calendar that they are selling for $12.00 each and proceeds will help support Youth-in-Action, a non-profit community service organization for high school students.  To purchase a copy of the Pig & Wolf Calendar, please contact Youth-in-Action at 643-4313 or by e-mail at yia@dresden.us or you may obtain a copy of the Pig & Wolf Calendar at the Hanover Town Clerk's Office, the Howe Library, Dartmouth Co-op, Main Street Kitchens, Rare Essentials and various other locations in the Upper Valley.
