Property taxes are billed on or around June 1 and November 1, and payable on or around July 1 and December 1 each year. The current 2009 tax rates vary from $16.44 to $17.43 per $1000/assesed valuation, depending on the district in which the property is located. The 2009 tax rates were set by the New Hampshire Department of Revenue Administration in late October 2009. The 1st 2010 property tax bill were mailed May 28, 2010, due Thursday, July 1, 2010. Property taxes are billed twice a year. The first half property tax bill is an estimated installment payment based on one-half of the previous year's total tax bill. The second half property tax bill is equal to the difference between the first half property tax bill adn the total amount of the annual tax, determined by the tax rate set by the State in October.
