We are sorry to say that one our employee's email account was spoofed late in the day on Friday. The intent was to hoax, fake or deceive another person/computer by using the identity of another user. Therefore, if you received an email from Dave McMullen (who is our Director of Assessing) with an attachment (in this case, it was a PDF file), please do not open the attachment.
As a general rule of thumb, if you receive an email with any type of attachment, whether from the Town or anyone else you know, if you are not expecting it please either just delete the email or call the person to ask if they meant to send this to you. You may also be doing them a favor by letting them/us know early on that an email account has been spoofed.
If you have questions regarding email received from the Town, please call Corey Stevens, IT Director for Hanover at 603-640-3222.
And lastly, please do not forward any emails of this type along to anyone as it only keeps this vicious cycle going.
Thank you,
Town of Hanover
