The Department of Public Works would like to provide some valuable resources for residents participating in the residential curbside recycling program.
Magnet calendars for 2023 are now available at both the Department of Public Works and Town Hall for residents. A printable version can also be found here. Not sure which day of the week your recycling gets picked up? Find your pickup day (PDF). If your recycling was not picked by the end of the scheduled day, please contact us (Public Works) at 603-643-3327 or Casella at 800-CASELLA as soon as possible so that it can be followed up with.
Toters should be placed out prior to 7 am on the scheduled pickup day. Please do not place them out the night prior as this is against the Town's Ordinance # 26 (PDF). Please refer to this guide for proper toter placement (PDF).
Glass was removed as part of the curbside recycling program in 2020 in order to avoid a significant cost increase. More about that and other changes implemented at that time can be found on our FAQ document (PDF). Residents may bring clean glass to our drop off location at 194 Lebanon Street (the Department of Public Works) in Hanover to place in the dumpster marked for glass recycling. Please do not place other materials into this container as it will result in fines and loss of this resource. When you enter the drive, take an immediate right toward visitor parking. The glass recycling dumpster is located in the visitor parking area.
