Patrol Division

Patrol is the largest Division in the Department, providing the most visible and direct services to the community 24 hours a day. The word "patrol" is used here in its broadest sense. It is considered to be the primary law enforcement function and embraces much more than the act of patrolling. It is defined as a generalized function where officers engage in a wide variety of activities which include:

  • Responding to Emergencies
  • Answering Calls for Service
  • Crime Prevention
  • Enforcing Traffic Laws
  • General Public Presence
  • Investigating Accidents
  • Conducting Initial Criminal Investigations

We operate on three shifts:

  • Day Shift (6 am to 4 pm)
  • Evening Shift (1 pm to 11 pm)
  • Night Shift (9 pm to 7 am)
