There has been a lot of national attention recently that testing wastewater at Wastewater Treatment Facilities could be used as a tool for early detection of SARS-COV-2 (Covid-19) RNA in a community. Many residents have suggested that this be done in Hanover as well. Although testing at Hanover's Water Reclamation Facility for COVID-19 RNA began in June, researchers are still in the process of validating methods, and developing procedures for testing and analyses. It is anticipated that once this phase of research is complete that more widespread surveillance will take place in Hanover.
