Downtown Employee Parking

Parking for our valued downtown employees can be challenging but there are several long-term options available. Short-term, metered parking areas are intended for customers and visitors of Hanover. Some employees meter feed in these spots, but not only is this discouraged by Hanover merchants it is in fact prohibited by the Hanover Parking Ordinance.

Metered Parking - All-Day Options

Marshall Lot: 90 spaces for up to 10 hours of parking at $.50 per hour. It's best to arrive before 8:30 am. You'll find the lot off Maple Street, directly behind CVS Pharmacy and the Circle K.

School Street: 15 spaces for up to 10 hours of parking at $.50 per hour. You find School Street by going one block west of South Main Street. It runs parallel to South Main Street.

Lower Lebanon and Crosby Street: 15 spaces for up to 10 hours of parking at $.50 per hour. You find Crosby Street by turning at the Post Office light on South Main Street. The first street on your left is Crosby Street, which is also the point where Lower Lebanon Street begins.

Free Permit Parking - All-Day

Thompson Arena: Free parking (Monday through Friday) for central business district employees. You must apply for a permit to place in your car from the Parking Division office in Town Hall. Thompson Arena is off of South Park Street between the Hanover Coop and Leverone Field House. Once you park your car you can walk to Main Street, which takes 12 minutes or you can ride the free Advance Transit Dartmouth/Downtown shuttle bus. The bus runs between 7 am and 7 pm (Monday through Friday). You can then take the bus back to Thompson at the end of the day. 

Free Non-Metered Parking - Part-Day

Permit-only spaces are available on Hovey Lane and lower Lebanon Street near Hanover High School for free after 3 pm on weekdays and all day on Saturdays and don't require a permit. To get to Hovey Lane turn at the Post Office light on South Main Street. Hovey Lane is the first right turn after passing the Crosby Street Intersection.

Pay For Permit Parking

The Hanover Parking Garage at 7 Lebanon Street has long-term lease permits available with 24/7 pass card access for $135 monthly. These spaces are located in covered sections of the parking garage at 7 Lebanon Street and require a six-month minimum lease contract.

There are surface area permit spaces in the Central Business District priced at $90 monthly and some on Lower Lebanon Street and Hovey Lane priced at $80 for a two-month period.
