The Hanover Planning Board consists of six full members and up to three alternate members appointed by the Selectboard for three-year terms. One person from the Selectboard serves as a seventh full member, for whom another person from the Selectboard serves as an alternate.
The Planning Board is responsible for:
Determining the Town's land use policies and setting them forth in the Master Plan and related policy and regulatory documents
Reviewing and acting on projects involving new construction and renovations proposed on business, multi-family residential, and institutional properties according to the Site Plan Regulations (PDF)
Reviewing and acting on proposed conventional and open-space residential and commercial subdivisions according to the Subdivision Regulations (PDF)
Reviewing and acting on lot line adjustments and boundary agreements prior to recording
Reviewing and commenting on projects involving potential disturbance or removal of stonewalls and trees on Scenic Roads (PDF)
