The Town of Hanover received a federal earmark, NHDOT NH-091 Earmark, to assist in the design and construction of the Girl Brook Multi-Use Path. The project is to construct a 15,720 linear foot stone-dust multi-use path with a timber bridge and several culvert crossings to be used in all seasons. (walking and biking, for 3 and x-country skiing in the winter). The project brings additional connectivity between the neighborhoods, schools, and recreational areas. The project begins at Verona Road and proceeds down an existing trail and along a path that meanders along the Girl Brook in an existing sewer easement and ends at the intersection of Reservoir Road. This is partially funded by the earmark with most of the funding coming from the Town or by fundraising methods. The path is along an easement granted by Dartmouth for the multi-use recreation.
